SUPPORTING MINISTRY APPRENTICESHIPS
"And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others."
2 Timothy 2:2
This verse is at the heart of St Matthew's commitment to ministry training. Part of our mission of making disciples together involves entrusting the gospel message to those who will teach and lead disciple-making ministries into the future. St Matthew's is now coordinating our apprenticeships through the Ministry Training Strategy (MTS). This gives us access to a new range of training resources as well as making all financial giving towards our apprenticeships tax-deductible.
If you would like to give towards the raising up of future gospel workers at St Matthew's, contributions can be made by clicking the Ministry Training button below.

James Vasikaran
James was born and raised in Perth, and has been at St Matthew's since 2017. He completed a Bachelor of Science at UWA before beginning his ministry apprenticeship under Tyler. James hopes to grow in Christ-likeness as he seeks to discern how best he can serve God with his life, and he loves seeing people grow in an understanding of the depths of God's grace in Christ. In his spare time, he also enjoys reading, running, digital art, and karaoke.
Ben Hotchkin
Ben has been part of the St Matthew's family since he was born, moving to the Unichurch congregation at the start of 2013. Having completed a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours in Economics) at UWA he worked for three years in Economic Consulting, before resigning at the end of 2023 to begin an MTS under Unichurch Pastor Ben Smart in 2024. Through his apprenticeship, Ben is seeking to grow in godliness, learn new ministry skills, and discern where best to serve God with his life going forward. Outside of church life he loves to spend time with his wife Bek, going travelling, hiking, bike riding and playing monopoly deal at cafes. He also loves playing and watching all kinds of sport, though not as much as hanging out with Bek of course.
